Sheri, Head Veterinary Technician, Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)

Sheri was born and raised in Salem, NH and currently still resides there. She fell in love with cats at a very young age and really enjoyed biology and science classes in school. Sheri found the medical field to be intriguing and thought: why not combine the two passions!?

Sheri decided to seek positions at local animal hospitals and was hired as a receptionist. She enjoyed everything about the veterinary field and decided to go to school for Veterinary Technology, graduating from Mount Ida College with an Associate Degree, and became a Certified Veterinary Technician after taking the Veterinary Technician National Exam. She excelled as a full time Veterinary Technician and soon was promoted to Lead Vet Tech.

Wanting to further her emergency skills and learn more, Sheri began as a per diem employee at REVH in 2013. After a few years, she realized emergency medicine is where she wanted to be and joined REVH full time in 2016.

Sheri lives with her fiancé, their 2 cats – Flip and Tootsie – and their rabbit named Bun. She enjoys the great outdoors such as camping, sight-seeing and hiking. When not doing this or working, Sheri loves indulging at restaurants and catching up on sleep!

Renee, Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)

She always had an interest in animals but actually graduated from UNH with a degree in Theater and Dance. After teaching for several years, she began to integrate veterinary medicine into her career. She was able to get her foot in the door as a veterinary assistant for a local general practice and began to work towards becoming a technician. Within a few years, and with a lot of hard work, she was able to sit for the Veterinary Technician National Exam and received her certification in the State of NH. Renee loves working with all exotics (especially reptiles) and likes the challenge they can bring. She really enjoys phlebotomy and it always feels great to be able to obtain a blood sample on a small exotic creature!

Renee’s awesome husband, Michael, is a Cytogenetics Technician, working in a lab at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She loves telling people she married a scientist! Together they live in Salem, NH and share their home with a variety of animals. They have a leopard gecko, Keith, whose specialities include people watching and cricket chomping. They have a habit of collecting cats who need homes and currently have three. Halen was the first cat Renee adopted as an adult; he was signed over to her hospital after needing a fractured femur repaired. Foofy Kyle is a long haired kitty who was found on the side of the road with a bit wound on his foot and was never claimed by anyone. After spending 6 months quarantined in the hospital, she decided to take him home! Lastly, Kit Purrington is a special kitty with bilateral radial aplasia (otherwise known as a “twisty cat” or “squitten”). He was found as a teeny baby on the streets of Nashua by a Good Samaritan…one look and they fell in love!

In her spare time, Renee enjoys taking dance and aerial classes (can’t give that up!) and will read with every spare moment she gets. She and her husband can eat sushi any time of day and love spending time outdoors.
